Super glue or Crazy glue would probably work best.
They have this glue at like Home Depot that is in a spray can It's great !
Gorilla glue is the bomb. it sticks to almost anything, including rubber and plastic! i use it all of the time. just make sure that you use a damp rag to dampen the surfaces and then clamp them together for 4 hours. It will certainly make things easier!
glue gun???
I'd use good ol' rubber cement, but, hey, I'm kinda old fashioned.

It should hold elf ears okay and you may even be able to peel them off the crown for reuse some other time.

Most of the other answers seem pretty permanent...

Tensol Cement is a specfic adhesive for acrylic and it is clear and it works by disolving the surface. This is a solvent based adhesive so must be used with care, especaly with pupils in the room. The sickly sweer ';methacrylate odour can be very powerfull.

Expanded polystyrene will disolve with any solvent based glue, but it can be stuck together with PVA as this will absorb into the surface of the glue like a sponge and dry to form a sort of machanical bond at the plastic / adhesive intervace.

Rigid polystyrene can be glued with any plastics adhesive and even tensol cement shoud disolve it. Also, try ';Bison Hard Plastic's Adhesive'; from any DIY store

Sheet acrylic has a high gloss shine which can scratch easily, and the adges MUST be filed and polished to give a quality finish. Many pupils find this tediousPlastic adhesives and Acrylic?

I had the same sort of trouble.

The pick guard is plastic and pretty hardy, so as long as you use something non-corrosive it should be fine. I just dampened it with a damp cloth then rubbed it off. If not, you can buy guitar cleaners from sites like www.dolphinmusic.co.uk
