Looking for correct plastic adhesive?

I have a 1960 Scott outboard that has a cracked plastic cowling. The cowling is not molded fiberglass. It is a smooth both sides, thin (approx 1/16'; thick) off white plastic that is brittle enough to chip and crack and epoxy will not stick to it. Does anyone have any idea what this material is and what adhesive will work to mend a large crack?Looking for correct plastic adhesive?
The cowl has gone past its use by date. The UV has made the plastic go brittle an no amount of glue will fix it. you might be able to fix it enough to make a mould to cast a fibreglass copyLooking for correct plastic adhesive?
Proper Epoxy will stick to it. High grade product like West System will work. The plastic MUST be wiped with Acetone the sanded and fiberglass must be used to reinforce the repair.

However, the best alternative might be Plexus or Lifecaulk.

Polyeurethanes like 3M 5200 are super strong but will eventually degrade the plastic further.
there is a copany called Solder-It. it has a website. They sell a plastic glue that works on practically anything. Here is the website:

It sells in hardware stores etc. Look around for it. I think its called plastic-weld.
